Rev Chosei Swann has died

I am sad to announce that Rev Chosei Swann died on October 29th.  The cause was chronic liver failure.  We don't know yet if there will be a public ceremony, but we will post here when we learn more.  My condolences to his family, who I got to know when I lived at Kannon Dell.  RIP Chosei.

I saw this poem on a friend's Twitter. She posted it back in November in remembrance of Rev. Chosei, and I have her permission to share it. Her uncle, a former Catholic priest, wrote it years ago and it was read at her uncle's own service when he passed away.

Monastery Burial

We buried an old monk yesterday.
Today the first snow fell.
I wonder if it's cold out there?
But then that's silly and of course he's home.
Home is a good place to be
The day of the first snow.
