| I'd just like to take the opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Steve Reilly and I'm from a rural town in the Pennines called Mossley.
I live in a 230 year old stone cottage with my Partner Gez, 2 children Molly and Florence and a lovely but extremely energetic dog called Scooby.
I have been practicing Soto Zen for over 8 years under the direction of Rev. Master Peter Bonatti at the Rochdale Zen Retreat.
I found this forum by chance and look forward to connecting and sharing with everyone on here.

I think you have won some type of award for being the first to post a profile picture. (I don't know what kind of award, yet, but we'll try to make it something pretty cool.) | Hi Lise... Thanks for the welcome  ) Unfortunately I live in the wrong part of the UK for thatched roofs! However I live in a very beautiful place surrounded by some lovely scenery... Hills, lakes and moorland. Here's a photo of the valley I live in to make up for the lack of a thatched roof. I'd like to be able to say that this is the view from my front door! It's not but we're fortunate enough to have all this 10 minutes walk away.   It's a beautiful area for walking, climbing, kayaking...  | |

| Hello Steve, and welcome. Your example prompted me to upload a photo to the avatar option in my profile. Good idea. Nice area you live in. I'm in the Pacific Northwest in the US. Also very pretty place.

I am in the hills between Macclesfield, Buxton and Congleton at Rushton - not too far away from you!
