Here is a good reason:

R D Laing video

I put this here to avoid further derailing of the "still small voice" thread

One of my friends I met in Japan now in Australia,he had a little cultuaral shock , but when people say 'no worries' to him he replies'don't think too much'.

I think our society has developed a little self obsession,we now have disorders that i do not think we recognised before, eating disorders behavior disorders. I wrote a few months ago about a young girl who wants to move in with me, she tempts life , she went through so much for a young person, the latest is setting fire to post boxes, what she really wants is a proper Mum and Dad,she has not got that security so she is strung out.

I do not personally have these answers, but of course, will be with someone as best as I can.

In responding to your post Glorfindel,I ran a meditation centre at the age of 23 or 24,I was not expecting the problems that came along,I had no life experience , I had limited experienced. I actually asked Ronnie for help in how to help people that were knocking on the door, could I refer people to him, He was very supportive, as I was well out of my depth.

When we ran retreats especially long retreats Bill Picard would come up and help. This is Ok as people we should stick together and hopefully as Buddhists we should too

Thank you for the R D Laing Video Glorfindel.

I found that very moving and connecting to my feeling of shared humanity
and empathy with the human condition.

I knew almost nothing of Laing but regardless of his possible faults, I have
the greatest respect for him now.

Stan.
